Personally, I think we should all go out clubbin' and let it all hang out! I wanta forget all about the weather, and of course, my crashed computer and a loaner from hell! After the last two days I've had that sounds like a plan!ha! what about you, how's your week been?
On the homefront ... LOL ...
Today, trying to find a window air conditioner unit for my bedrooms upstairs has been a tough job! I called everywhere, nobody had any ... or just had one or two in stock ...
so my first stop was Sears ...
I did good (or so I thought). I measured the inside of the window (just the opening) and discovered it was 24 inches; they had a 12,000 BTU unit which was 23 5/8 ths inches, so I rushed out to buy it. I then called my mom's husband and his son and they came and pulled it out the car and took it upstairs only to find out that on the very outside storm window casing there happen to be less room and of course the damn thing wouldn't fit! there was no budging or bending that was going go resolve that issue ...
so ... I called Sears back ... Don't worry just bring the thing back in (of course the box and all the contents were not so intact)... but they had a 10,000 BTU no problem, which I opted to exchange for ... it supposedly would be smaller in width ... wouldn't it?
so they pack the 12,000 back downstairs out to the car, and I go back out to Sears in the scorching ass melting heat (my car air conditioner is kaput too!) so I finally go to pay and I ask ... let's check those width dimensions ... it was the same as the 12,000 BTU ... I told them according my remeasure of my window, a unit could be no more than 22 1/2 inches in width, well this 10,000 BTU was the same width as the 12,000 ... shit!
so I opted for the 8,000 BTU at this point, they put it in my car and I hauled it home (and it's still in my car!) I figured if all else fails I would get a second unit for the other upstairs bedroom, as there are 2 bedrooms upstairs ...
I realized that the first place I called (Big Sandy) had the 10,000 BTU in stock but only had 3, so I called them ... and decided that instead of wondering if the 8,000 was going to work, I would just buy the 10,000 (which was cheaper there than Sears anyway) and take the other air conditioner back to Sears!
Oops, better do that now before they close, right?! oh forget it! I'm not gonna do it! and did I get that one hour of work in today that I needed? heck no! and chances are since it's already a little after 9, it might not get done! but tomorrow it's definitely a 4-hour work day!

it's the 1970s for goodness sakes! There was no dilly-dallying in that bathroom! probably the shortest bathroom trip in history! and needless to say the I survived that big adventure!
