some things just crack me up! this did.

I have to tell ya, there's a whole other element waiting at the jail to visit relatives. Our local jail has 221 inmates, and this is really small town. There were even small children in there, all under the ages of 10, and more than 5 infants. I felt totally unprepared for this scene of strangers, strange behaviors, each waiting for their 15 minute lifeline with those behind locked doors. It was quite a place of observation. I guess it bummed me out a bit, seeing the effects that drugs/criminality can do to lives, to their families lives. Its truly sad. I just think jail even for visiting is no place for babies and children, and on the other side of those bars, my baby girl of 30 years ago.
