Saturday Night Blog Fever...bring it on, bloggers!

Show me whatcha got!

I've got a link list up too (see below)! Let's do this Saturday Night in style.

I went deep into the funk vault this week to pull on some “Instant Funk.” Consider yourselves lucky, it was a toss up between them and Bumblebee Unlimited’s Love Bug! Instant Funk burst on the '70s disco scene from Trenton, NJ. The band started out with the core lineup of bassist Raymond Earl, drummer Scotty Miller, and guitarist Kim Miller. It later expanded to include keyboardist Dennis Richardson; lead singer James Carmichael; horn players Larry Davis, Eric Huff, and Johnny Onderlinde; and percussionist Charles Williams. The nine-piece funk unit discovered by Bunny Sigler, created a stir in 1979 when Salsoul released the single "I Got My Mind Made Up (You Can Get It Girl)." Swirling, screaming horns announce the chorus; hand claps, tambourines and a maniacal rhythm guitar battle the heavy bottom; and a woman delivers erotic lines for added impact. Check out that video also posted.

This video makes me laugh, especially when these shirtless guys start dipping! and those pants, holey moley, I think they're melted on!

 We Never Know...

Photobucket

that the last time we kiss our children, our grandchildren, our beloved solider or significant other, it could be the last time. Sometimes I long for a love who anticipates my arrival, holds me close to his heart at all times, and releases me with love should I leave his side hopefully to return. Somewhere inside my brain, I seem to recall feeling that but I've been told I wear rose-colored glasses and have silly notions of BIG love.

I lived quite a few years also experiencing the exact opposite of that. Drifting in my own thoughts with sleep becoming my only solace. It has been my experience as well that some people are capable of great love while others in my life have been a bitter disappointment; some incapable of any acts of love. Funny how we function on the surface, make excuses to ourselves for our choices, but underneath we're drifting, still searching, and even though our soul tries to guide us, at times we refuse to listen.

Entering the layers of one's life to unfold a tale of true love would be a gift indeed. Living in pain and loving in passion has taught me to never settle for less than what my soul requires. However, sometimes I wonder if 'my last time' could come before he does.
