I don't know why I got this in my head this evening, but my little Isabella asked me today (after reminding me of course that her birthday was coming up) on what day she was born. I told her the actual date, and she said, no, what day? I said do you mean day of the week? like Sunday, Monday, Tuesday? and she said yes. That was an easy one as she was born on Memorial Day, which was a Monday. She tells me that every day at kindergarten, they do the date and day of the week thing, and put up a little weather cloudy or rainy cloud she says, or a sun if it is going to be sunshiny! In talking to her this rhyme kept popping into my head.

She then asked me on which day her mommy was born, and honestly I had forgotten, and I realized that I didn't even know what day of the week my birthday fell on, which is March 8th. I know it was snowy and wintry, as March often is, according to mom's recollections, but I wanted to know which line of this rhyme would relate to me.

Monday’s child is fair of face,
Tuesday’s child is full of grace,
Wednesday’s child is full of woe,
Thursday’s child has far to go.
Friday’s child is loving and giving,
Saturday’s child works hard for a living,
But the child born on the Sabbath Day, Is fair and wise and good and gay.

so, after researching, it seems that Yours Truly was born on a Thursday! and so was my boyfriend. which means I have far to go. Just exactly what does this mean?

to find out yours, (thanks to BC!), click here.

and now I'm off to see what day of the week my daughters were born on. I am pretty sure my son was born on a Monday, but maybe not.

Do you know which day of the week you were born on?

Yes, I'm sure these excerpts have been around the block a few times, but oh well, too bad! They are funny and always worth a repeat.

EXCERPTS FROM A CAT'S DAILY DIARY

(Day 183 of My Captivity)

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from ruining the occasional piece of furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another houseplant.

Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded, must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair, must try this on their bed. Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, in attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was. Hmmm, not working according to plan.

There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the food. More importantly I overheard that my confinement was due to MY power of " allergies. " Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage. I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches.

The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The bird on the other hand has got to be an informant, and speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room, his safety is assured. But I can wait, it is only a matter of time...**

for every evil cat, there is a cat who prays...

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray this cushy life to keep.
I pray for toys that look like mice,
And sofa cushions, soft and nice.
I pray for gourmet kitty snacks,
And someone nice to scratch my back,
For windowsills all warm and bright,
For shadows to explore at night.
I pray I'll always stay real cool
And keep the secret feline rule
To NEVER tell a human that
The world is really ruled by CATS!

"In order to keep a true perspective of one's importance, everyone should have a dog that will worship him and a cat that will ignore him."

and order up a Friday Night Sloe Gin Fizz. Grab a seat, coffee's on the house, but do feel free to order up a cocktail. ooooh Waitress? could I get a refill please ?? LOL It sure has been a long week, hasn't it? Chillin' jazz is the best recipe for a long workweek!

I don't know why, but my listening thirst has been pretty much jazz here lately; even my last last-fm box was funky jazz. Is there any jazz lovers in the house? Well, I hope to see you guys out tomorrow night for Saturday Night. This post will remain up, so I hope you come by tomorrow evening and hang out with me. The playlist is great, the service impeccable, (even if you have to wait on yourself! LOL) and having you for company would be even better!

*chat removed* see yuns tomorrow night.
